Samuel Korkis, DDS, MS

Dr. Samuel Korkis received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Damascus in 2007. From there, Dr. Korkis went on to finish a four-year postdoctoral periodontal residency in Damascus. He completed a preceptorship at the University of California UCLA in advanced prosthodontics and implantology, and earned his Master of Science and Certificate in periodontics from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. During his senior year he was appointed chief resident, and was given the award for outstanding graduate student for his clinical skills from the Michigan Periodontal Association (MPA) in 2018.

In addition to his full-time commitment in his practice, he serves as a part-time adjunct clinical instructor at University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry.

Dr. Korkis’s research interests include immediate dental implant placement, implant repair and key factors that contribute to the long-lasting health of peri-implant tissue.

Dr. Korkis has committed himself to following an evidence-based approach, and to providing the highest quality of ethical periodontal care.

PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIPS

Away from his profession and during his leisure time, Dr. Korkis enjoys playing guitar, saxophone, and clay sculpting. His favorite sports are basketball, soccer and chess.

Office Manager

Mary has spent her whole career in healthcare, focusing on dental care administration the last 12 years. She prides herself on providing exceptional patient care, creating a welcoming and comforting atmosphere for our patients.

In her free time, she enjoys cooking, art, knitting and exercising.

Cathy

Dental Hygienist & Assistant

Cathy has been working in the dental field for over 30 years! At 21, she became a dental assistant in a periodontal practice and has been a devoted periodontal assistant and hygienist ever since. Cathy joined our team in 2021, and she loves our family atmosphere and being able to take care of all the patients she has encountered.

Cathy is certified in anesthesia, nitrous oxide sedation, CPR and OSHA regulations, and she is current with all her continuing education certifications.

Olga

Dental Hygienist

Olga joined our team in January 2022, but she has worked as a dental hygienist for over 35 years! She is certified in anesthesia, nitrous oxide sedation, CPR and OSHA regulations. She loves working with great people who share a passion for dental health and keep the patients’ best interests in mind.

Katie

Dental Hygienist

Katie joined Troy Periodontics and Dental Implants as a dental hygienist in October 2021. She holds a Bachelor of Science in human biology (2016) and a Master of Science in management from Michigan State University (2021). Katie completed her Bachelor of Science in dental hygiene at the University of Michigan in 2017, where she received the Hu-Friedy Golden Scaler Award for clinical excellence in her final year.

For Katie, the best part of being a hygienist at Troy Periodontics is working alongside a staff of talented, dedicated and compassionate oral health care providers. Each team member brings their own unique strengths to the table and works together to create positive patient experiences.

With her background in general dentistry and strong focus on periodontics, Katie is able to provide patients with comprehensive care plans and individualized recommendations. She especially enjoys getting to know her patients and treating them on a routine basis. The greatest joy of being a dental hygienist is aiding patients on their journey to oral health!

Outside of the workplace, Katie enjoys spending time with her husband, her daughter and her two cats. When she finds the time, Katie loves trying new recipes and spending weekends up north with her family.
